Episcopal Church Work Party - December 5
We accomplished a great yesterday at our Episcopal Church work party!!! Still work to be done, which we should schedule when the weather is a bit warmer! See pictures below [not including Karen who had to leave for a CASA commitment.]…Cleaned, weeded, and dressed with poinsettias.
In addition to the pictures below, a bag of daffodil bulbs were planted in the flower beds at the end of sidewalk to the main Chapel entrance. They should look gorgeous with the Plumbago when they all bloom!

The Garden Spot - July
For those members who do not get the Tribune & Georgian [or those who do but did not yet read it], the article below was featured on page 19 of the Fall 2019 Tributaries magazine! This magazine is a quarterly publication of the Tribune & Georgian with the goal of “Helping You Navigate Southeast Georgia”. Written by our very own Angel Bernier, this is a great & informative article that is very timely, especially after our Lunch & Learn Speaker Rebecca Jordi spoke on Invasive plants.
Kiwanis One Day - April 27
Saint Marys Garden Club members joined in on the Kiwanis One Day event, held by Kiwanians around the world with the goal of bringing multiple groups together to do something that benefits children especially and the community as a whole. This year’s project was to spruce up the Howard Gilman Memorial Park at the historic downtown waterfront, after several years of being ravished by hurricanes & storms. Flowers beds & shrubs were cleaned out, weeds pulled and 531 plants were planted based on the original park landscape blueprints.
Lunch & Learn April 9th
|
Every April we use our scheduled meeting for our Lunch & Learn event, a guest speaker on a current topic and light lunch buffet. It is free and open to the public. This year’s guest speaker was Rebecca Jordi, UF/IFAS Nassau County Extension Director. Her topic “Invasive Plants & Why they Are” and was very interesting & we all learned a great deal about this important subject. Rebecca is a wonderful speaker, knowledgeable & funny and it was a great event this year! |
