All meetings begin at 1:00 pm at Saint Marys Presbyterian Church Hall unless otherwise noted.
You may join us at 12:15 for meet and greet. Bring a bag lunch and drink for casual conversation before our meetings.
January 10: Installation of New Officers (no program)
February 14: Speaker: Emily Floore, Saint Marys Riverkeeper "River Friendly Practices for your Yards and Gardens"
Soup Meet and Greet 12:15. Several of our members will be making their favorite soup and chili recipes to share.
Feb. 17: St. Marys Arbor Day Celebration at First Presbyterian. 2pm. We will be planting a tree in memory of our departed member Frances Smith. Sponsored by our club and the Tree Board.
March 14: Speaker: Jessica Warren, Camden Cty Ext Agent, UGA "How to Become Georgia Green Landscape Stewards"
March 30: Field trip to Baxley with lunch. County Plant Farm and Sarah's in the City Restaurant
April 11: Speaker: Dr. Taylor Clem, Nassau Cty UF/IFAS, "Solitary Bees in your Garden"
May 9: Plant Swap (all attendees can bring a plant to swap with description and what your plant needs)
May 25: Field trip to Jacksonville. "Eat your Yard JAX" a non-profit edible plant nursery & education center
June 13: Speaker: Ray Wensell, Florida Master Gardener, Member of the No. Florida Daylily Society. "Daylilies of SE Georgia and N. Florida" (some daylilies will be available for sale)
July 11: Speaker: Jacqueline Jung, Member of Saint Marys Garden Club "I am a Farmer". Jackie grows her own food in her garden
August 8: Speaker: African Violet Society, Jacksonville "African Violet propagation"
SAT, Sept 9 NOTE DATE/TIMES: Speaker: "Hummingbirds and their Habitat", Angel Bernier, This is a Lunch & Learn Meeting. The public is invited to attend at Noon. Lunch will be provided by our members. (held at Presbyterian Church Hall) Our Plant Sale will be held from 9-11:30 on this date, on the grounds of the church.
October 10: Speaker: "Rainbarrels", we will learn about rainbarrels and their advantages. We will be given the opportunity (limited to 10 participants) to make their own rainbarrels. All materials provided $35.
November 14: Speaker TBD
December 12: Our Annual Christmas Party. This event will be catered at a cost of $20 per member. Reservations will be taken at our November meeting and monies collected at that time. Reserve your spot.
