Hays Days
Every year our historic district is transformed into a beautiful fall display. Storefronts & historic homes are decorated with pumpkins, scarecrows, hay bales & flowering mums. The median of Osborne Street is decorated by businesses & organizations including our St Marys Garden Club. One of the highlights of this fall celebration is the annual Scarecrow Stroll from 1:00-4:00p.m. on the designated day. Parents & children in costumes stroll by all the displays, and candy or trinkets are handed out to the children.
Hay Days Scarecrow Stroll 2023
Club members past out treats and seeds to the many hundreds of families who participated in the October 22, 2023 Scarecrow Stroll on Osborne Street in Saint Marys. Sooooo many wonderful costumed trick or treaters we ran out of candy within two hours. Got more candy and it was gone in less than 15 minutes. Thanks to Karen Widing for donation of the seeds and her time at this event. Also helping out were Terri Kennedy, Trish McMillan, Jane Howington, Margie Hucks, Frankie Law, Barbara Ashburn, Darlene Low, Christine Williams, Marty Krupp, Freda Malphur and Brooks Nettum.

Hay Days 2023
Club members outdid themselves this year! Saint Marys, GA has a Halloween tradition where businesses and community groups participate in the Scarecrow Stroll event held each October. Each participating entity dresses up a scarecrow in a way that reflects the focus of what they do. Then the scarecrows are displayed in the median of the Osborne Street in Saint Marys. This year it is on October 22. Children dress in their Halloween costumes and go Trick or Treating along Osborne Street from 1-4 pm. Members of the St. Marys Garden Club did an outstanding job this year with remarkable results. Special thanks to Karen Widing, Judy Molner, Judy Buchanan, Rachel Francois, Debra Duckworth, and Linda Graybal. We will be passing out candy for the little ones and plant seeds to the adults. Happy Halloween! |
