Orange Hall Landscape Layout 2023
Thanks to the talents of our own Garden Club members, Judy Molnar and Elizabeth King, a landscape layout has been given to the Orange Hall Committee for future use in planning out the landscape of the grounds. We look forward in the progress as this historic building and grounds comes to completion.

Orange Hall Work Day January 2024
Orange Hall committee members (not present at picture taking) and members and friends of the St Marys Garden Club went to work weeding out the vines in the Historic Orange Hall Azaleas. We so appreciated all the help we got in getting the Azaleas free of the vines and weeds so that they can put on their beautiful show in the Springtime. We also thank Public Works for sending out a worker to do some weed wacking on the grounds. Many vines and weeds have grown since the last work day. It looks so much better and the Azaleas thank everyone too! |
Orange Hall Work Day January 2023
Members gathered with shovels, saws and clippers to rid the azaleas at
Orange Hall of vines and weeds. We were joined by members of the
Orange Hall Committee. As you can see by this photo, we had quite the
pile of weeds, vines and tree branches. The azaleas say many thanks to
all that helped to free them. They will be showing their beautiful foliage
for all to see.

Orange Hall Workday May 21, 2019 For the 2nd time this spring, SMGC gardeners spent the morning at Orange Hall tackling weeds, pulling vines down from bamboo thicket, and trimming azaleas - what a difference! And we discovered a plant in bloom that we had not seen before! |
September Work Party at Orange Hall 2018
Dear Wonderful Weeders, Trimmers etc.,
Words cannot thank you enough for all your efforts on behalf of our club, St Marys, and the grounds of Orange Hall!
I am always amazed at your ability to jump in tirelessly, finishing the job, never complaining, and your strength is unbelievable! So much for the “old lady” thing. I wish the whole club could see you at work. It is inspirational.
Our hope is that the city will actually do what they have promised, the major tree work will not happen until November. Again, we all thank you!

January 18, 2017 A fun and productive day at Orange Hall. Peni arranged a two part program featuring crape myrtles. Mark McClellan, our Community Forester, was the presenter. The first portion included a classroom overview of diseases, care, and varieties of crape myrtles. In addition detailed pruning techniques were covered. Mark then returned for a hands on demonstration of crape myrtle pruning on the trees at Orange Hall. Attendees included garden club members, public works, tree board, and other interested individuals. After the demonstration, we broke into groups and pruned all the crape myrtles. Thank you Peni for everything you did to organize this activity. We also appreciate Mark McClellan, our Community Forester for coming making two trips to St. Marys to help us. |
