Saint Marys 14th Annual Plant Sale at October Rock Shrimp Festval
Our double booth, located in front of the Saint Marys Elementary School, won best both at the festival for the 2nd year. The majority of our plants come from the gardens of our club members, who begin dividing and potting up their plants in early spring and tending them until October. This year’s featured Plant of the Day is the Orange Cape Honeysuckle, with a cluster of deep orange flowers that attract hummingbirds and butterflies. Adjacent to the Plant of the Day Display is the butterfly table where our club member Karen Widing shares her knowledge about the evolution of caterpillars into butterflies, as well as hummingbirds and pollinators. These creatures are so important to our environment, and there are many plants that you can have in your garden to attract them, including the Cape Honeysuckle! Our annual plant sale subsidizes the many civic projects that we support in Camden County. |
